The 2015 USA Dream Team will feature a total of five (5) Pennsylvania wrestlers and will be headed by Franklin Regional’s Eric Mausser. All five wrestlers and Team USA’s head coach are from the WPIAL.

The 19th Annual Wrestling USA/Cliff Keen Athletic Dream Team Classic will feature the top wrestlers from the State of Iowa against top wrestlers from around the Nation. The event takes place on Saturday April 11, 2015 at Independence High School at 6:00 PM in Independence, Iowa.

Three Franklin Regional Panthers were selected for the USA Dream Team with #1 Michael Kemerer leading the way.  Kemerer will have a re-match with Iowa’s Max Thomson who he defeated in the Dapper Dan Classic (6-3). The #1 and #2 ranked wrestlers in the Nation also met in the 2014 Super 32 Finals which was won by Kemerer (9-5). For Kemerer it will be a trip he will come to know well over the next several years. The 4x PIAA State Finalist and 1x Champion is heading to the University of Iowa to compete for the Hawkeyes this Fall.

#4 Devin Brown, a 3x PIAA State Champion, will look to continue his dominance against Brennen Doebel of Clear Lake, IA. Brown knocked off then #1 ranked Jabari Moody of Illinois at the Dapper Dan in an impressive (13-4) performance.

The third Panther will be 160 lbs. wrestler #2 Josh Shields who faces #4 Bryce Steiert who recently won his second straight Iowa State Championship.

A pair of 2x PIAA State Champions round out the Pennslyvania participants with #2 Sam Krivus (Hempfield Area) and #2 Vincenzo Joseph (Pitt. Central Catholic). At 138 lbs. Krivus will meet Cedar Rapids Prairi’s Josh Wenger. The dominate #2 Vincenzo Joseph already dismantled one Iowa wrestler this month when he defeated Bettendorf’s Freddy Stroker (14-4).  The Penn State recruit will meet hometown wrestler Chase Straw of Independence.
