Beast of the East: Freshman Duggan Upsets #1 Seed Barlow

The Beast of the East features many of Pennsylvania’s top programs including Bethlehem Catholic, Central Dauphin, Cumberland Valley, Nazareth Area, and Boyertown Area.

Three wrestlers ranked #1 in the State are competing including #1 at 106 lbs. Matt Parker (Pennridge), #1 at 220 lbs. Andrew Dunn (Bethlehem Catholic) and #1 at 285 lbs. Bo Spiller (Solanco).

Pennsylvania wrestler L.J. Barlow (Haverford), a Harvard recruit and National Prep Finalist, will not be defending his 2013 Beast of the East Championship after an upset defeat to Cumberland Valley’s freshman Francis Duggan. In the first round Duggan outlasted the senior (5-3) to pull the biggest upset of the Tournament.
