Competing for the first time down at 145 lbs. senior #1 Patrick Duggan (Cumberland Valley) won his fourth straight Section 1 Championship with a (3-0) decision over #2 Jonathan Ross (Northern York). At 152 lbs. I was surprised freshman #4 Quinten Milliken (Cumberland Valley) entered unseeded but the rookie proved his worth by winning the Championship with two tech-falls and a major decision. At 170 lbs. #3 Drew Peck (Chambersburg Area) captured his first Sectional Title with a (4-2) decision over #6 Trent Cook (Cumberland Valley). Returning PIAA State Medalist #1 Casey Glunt (James Buchanan) won his first career Section Championship as he outlasted talented rookie #4 Blake Barrick (Big Spring) by decision (3-1).

In another marquee match-up #2 Francis Duggan (Cumberland Valley) is on track with older brother Patrick Duggan as he claimed his first Sectional Championship at 195 lbs. over #2 Tommy Rayhart (Big Spring) with a (2-1) decision making it two in a row against the former PIAA State Medalist. At 220 lbs. senior Brad Drabenstadt (Cumberland Valley) continued his impressive streak by winning the 220 lbs. Championship over #6 Stefaun Johnson (Greencastle-Antrim) that will certainly place him in next week’s rankings. In the most unpredictable weight-class of the year #9 Jared Starliper (Greencastle-Antrim) came out on top defeating #7 Noah Smith (Northern York) in the finals (3-1). In the semifinals Noah Smith pinned #3 Jackson Standford (Cumberland Valley) who finished in third place.

Section 2:

Central Dauphin freshman #1 Chris Wright went untouched picking up two tech-falls and a pin in 0:11 seconds. At 126 lbs. #11 Gabriel Ikeda (Cedar Cliff) captured the Championship Title over #9 Levi Williams (Central Dauphin) avenging a defeat from earlier in the season.
