World Silver Medalist – Jordan Wood

Boyertown Area wrestler Jordan Wood has shown why he is considered one of the top rising juniors in the Nation as the 2x PIAA State Runner-up finished with a FILA Cadet World SIlver Medal in Freestyle. Competing for Team USA at 100 KG/200 lbs. in Slovakia Jordan made the most of his International Freestyle debut advancing into the World Finals with three straight wins. In the finals Wood met Georgia’s Matcharashvili Givi and dropped a (6-1) decision.

Also competing was Belle Vernon Area wrestler Jarod Verkleeren, a rising sophomore, who dropped his first and only match of the Tournament to Armenia’s Mikeyan Gevorg (6-2).
