King of The Mountain and Reno Tournament of Champions Updates

One of Pennsylvania’s most talented tournaments is underway at Central Mountain High School while three PA Teams are in Reno, Nevada for the Reno Tournament of Champions, one of the Nation’s top competitions. Making their first appearance in Reno are 2012 State Team Champions and PA’s #1 ranked Class AAA program Canon-McMillan who joins #2 ranked Easton Area. The Red Rovers of Easton are regular participants at Reno and have several seeded wrestlers competing. Joining Canon-McMillan and Easton is District 1’s Upper Perkiomen.

The King of the Mountain Tournament will feature this seasons top freshman that include Greater Latrobe’s Luke Pletcher, Bedford’s Jonathan Gabriel, Parkland’s Jacob Lizak, South Western’s Owen Wherley, Mifflin County’s Hayden Hidlay, Bethlehem Catholic’s Lee Todora, and Boyertown’s Jordan Wood.

Leading the way are several PIAA State Champions including 2012 Class AAA 106 lbs. Champion Ethan Lizak (Parkland) #1 Seed at 113 lbs., 2012 Class AA 106 lbs. Darian Cruz (Bethlehem Catholic) #1 Seed at 120 lbs., 2011 Class AA 103 lbs. Champion Jason Nolf (Kittaning) #1 Seed at 132 lbs., 2x Class AA State Champion Mikey Racciato (Pen Argyl) #1 Seed at 145 lbs., and 2012 Class AA 285 lbs. Champion Nazar Mironenko (Mifflinburg) #1 Seed at 285 lbs.
