The Pitt Panthers are ramping up their recruiting efforts and staying close to home to do so. Pittsburgh head coach Jason Peters landed #7 Jake Wentzel (South Park) who enters his junior year with a career record of (74-14). Jake is a 2x PIAA State Medalist finishing in third place last season at 132 lbs. Last month at the Super 32 Challenge he had an impressive performance finishing in third place moving up to 152 lbs. in the off-season. There Wentzel finished ahead of some top Division I recruits from PA including Josh Maruca (Arizona State) and Kaleb Young (Iowa). At Pittsburgh Jake projects to compete at 157 lbs. for the Panthers.

Joining Wenztel will be Belle Vernon Area wrestler #24 Austin Bell who enters his junior season with a career record of (74-16). Bell is a talented wrestler who earned his first trip to the PIAA State Tournament in 2014 by winning the South West Regional Championship at 160 lbs. Like Wentzel, Bell competed in the prestigious Super 32 Challenge Tournament last month and placed third at 170 lbs. Austin projects to compete around 174 lbs. for Pittsburgh.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
