State Champion Greg Bulsak

State Champion Greg Bulsak

2015 PIAA State Champion Greg Bulsak went under the radar last season as a junior having moved up from 152 lbs. to 170 lbs. in his third season at South Park. As a sophomore Bulsak went (2-2) at the South West Regional Tournament at 152 lbs. missing a second trip to Hershey. As a freshman Bulsak qualified for the PIAA State Tournament at 126 lbs. where he went (2-2).

It is not to say Bulsak was a surprise State Champion but only shows the progression he has made in his career. It also doesn’t help sharing the spotlight with fellow classmate Jake Wentzel, also a 2015 PIAA State Champion, at South Park.

Entering his senior season Bulsak is ranked #14 in the Top 300 Recruits of 2016. Bulsak will be the highest ranked wrestler that Clarion has picked up this off-season. In the practice room Bulsak will benefit greatly from the newly named assistant coach Kyle Kiss who was a 4x New Jersey State Medalist.

Clarion head coach Keith Ferraro also received a recommitment from Brookville Area’s Taylor Ortz. #20 Ortz had originally committed to Clarion in October 2014 but reopened his recruiting process last month.

After a month of consideration it appears Clarion is still the place where Ortz would like to call home following his senior season at Brookville.

Also making a college commitment recently was #65 Bailey Shutt (Lower Dauphin) who has committed to Bloomsburg.
