Spencer Lee’s UWW Junior World Championship just got even more impressive. Apparently his dominating performance wrestling up a division was achieved despite having a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Unfortunately for Spencer, Franklin Regional, and wrestling fans – the undefeated junior will miss a good portion of the 2015-2016 season. As first reported by Tribune-Review’s Paul Schofield Spencer had surgery on his shoulder last week to repair the injury that was sustained sometime during his Junior World training. Even the injury could not stop Spencer’s remarkable performance in Brazil where he earned a tech-fall in each of his five matches.

The current time table for Lee’s return is uncertain but it appears there is hope for at least a post-season for the junior. According to Schofield, he will wear a sling for six weeks and returns to the surgeon on October 23rd. One thing is clear “The Kid” will not be defending his 2014 Championships from the Super 32, Ironman, or POWERade.

The 2x PIAA State Champion enters his junior year with an undefeated career record of (97-0).[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
