Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic Information

The 2012 Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic is entering it’s 38th year and will feature PA’s best seniors vs. the USA’s best seniors. The event will take place this Sunday at 4:00 PM (March 25th) at the University of Pittsburgh’s Fitzgerald Field house The PA line-up will feature 4x State Champion Jimmy Gulibon (Derry Area) at 126 LBS and 3x State Champion Nicky Roberts (North Star) at 120 LBS. Gulibon will be heading to Penn State next year while Roberts heads west for Ohio State. In addition, 3x State Champion John Rizzo (Richland) at 220 LBS and 2x State Champions Steve Spearman (Erie McDowell) 138 LBS and Averee Robinson (Susquehanna Township) 285 LBS will add to a PA roster that features 7 AA participants and 6 AAA participants.

The USA Team, like years before and years to come, is filled with talented seniors who are the best of the best. Leading that group is 4x Iowa State Champion John Meeks 145 LBS, an undefeated senior from Des Moines, IA who will wrestle for the Iowa State Cyclones next year. The best match of the night should be at 126 LBS as Jimmy Gulibon takes on once beaten and 4x Iowa State Champion Corey Clark from Southeast Polk, IA.
