Solomon Chishko Gives Verbal to Virginia Tech

Although he will only be a junior at Canon-McMillan High School this academic year, Solomon Chishko has already decided where he will be taking his mat skills following graduation. According to InterMat, the current Big Mac will be a Virginia Tech Hokie in Fall 2014 and stated “I’ve always liked the school and the setting,” said Chishko. “I think it is a good fit for me.”

In just two years at the high school level, Chishko has captured two PIAA State AAA Third Place medals and elapsed a (90-7) career record. In addition, Solomon earned a runner-up finish at the PowerADE Christmas Tournament as a freshman and this past season captured his first Championship. He figures to fall into the 149 lbs. range for Virginia Tech and will adjust well to college wrestling with his strong riding ability from the top position and impressive double-leg takedown.
