5 PA Champions Crowned at Excalibur Including Rookie Vulakh
The second annual Flo-Excaliber Tournament hosted by National Prep power Wyoming Seminary featured multiple State Ranked wrestlers from a variety of programs. Host Wyoming Seminary dominated the field that included many Pennsylvania Native wrestlers. One of those was former Bethlehem Catholic PIAA State Champion Jake Riegel who captured the 126 lbs. Championship.
The #2 ranked wrestler in the State at 113 lbs., Alan Diltz (Benton Area), came away with the Championship title. Diltz was one of seven Benton Area Tigers to end on the medal stand at the Excalibur.
One of the most impressive performances of the Tournament was freshman Ryan Vulakh (North Penn) who made a statement at 138 lbs. Ranked as the #3 Top Incoming Freshman by PA Power Wrestling Vulakh took down junior #9 Michael Stuart of Benton Area who is a 2x PIAA State Medalist.
Scranton senior #23 Andrew Burgette was crowned Champion at 170 lbs. and Vincenzo Pelusi (LaSalle College) won the heavyweight Championship.
