State Dual Team Rankings Updated as Post-Season Begins

The Dual Team Post-Season is getting underway and with that come updated State Rankings. Class AA State Dual Team Rankings saw the most change after #1 Brookville Area left their home gym with an undefeated record (5-0) at the Ultimate Duals against the best teams in the State. Northern Lebanon is a big mover in this edition raising up from #13 all the way up to #7 where they are the highest ranked District 3 team. Speaking of District 3, Newport moved up from #24 and landed at #17 after improving their record to (18-3). District 7’s Burrell may have not have improved their record but they did battle with four of the top teams in the State at the Ultimate Duals. There they went (1-4) getting a win over Saegertown but dropping a one point defeat to #9 Greenville. Burrell now has moved up to #12 from #18.

In Class AAA the top teams have stayed the same with #1 Bethlehem Catholic surging in the National rankings after defeating New Jersey’s Bergen Catholic at Flo’s Who’s #1 Duals. #2 Belle Vernon Area is holding steady as the #2 spot after winning the Escape The Rock Tournament. District 3 rivals Central Dauphin and Cumberland Valley swapped positions after the Rams took down the Eagles (28-22). District 1’s Council Rock South has established themselves as one of the top teams in the State after swarming the Parkland Duals and coming away with victories over Exeter Township and Parkland.

The first of two Post-Season’s in Pennsylvania Wrestling will get started tonight. The Dual Team Post-Season will get underway tonight in the WPIAL with four sectional tournaments in Class AAA and three sectional tournaments in Class AA.

The District 7/WPIAL Team Tournament will start on February 1, 2016.

Also kicking-off this week are the District 1 Dual Team Championships that begin on Thursday January 28, 2016 for Class AAA.
