26 Pennsylvania Wrestlers Named NWCA Division I Academic All-Americans

Pennsylvania Wrestling is more than just tough on top riders, high scoring machines, and hard-nosed grapplers. The Keystone State also produces some of society’s most talented students. This was evident in the 2016 NWCA’s Division I Academic All-Americans list that featured a total of 26 Pennsylvania wrestlers. (Cover photo of Jason Nolf by Marc Billet for PA Power Wrestling).

Leading the group of 26 included Penn State which had a list leading six Academic All-Americans all hailing from Pennsylvania. Those include NCAA National Champions Nico Megaludis (Franklin Regional) and Zain Retherford (Benton Area) in addition to NCAA All-Americans Jason Nolf (Kittanning) and Jordan Conaway (New Oxford). NCAA Qualifiers Geno Morelli (DuBois Area) and Matt McCutheon (Kiski Area) also made the All-Academic team for the Nittany Lions.

Other All-Academic wrestlers included NCAA All-American’s Nate Brown (Lewisburg Area), Pete Renda (Brandywine Heights Area), Casey Kent (LaSalle College), Brett Harner (Norristown Area), Connor Schram (Canon-McMillan), and Solomon Chishko (Canon-McMillan).
