#2 BECA vs. #3 Kiski Will be Quarterfinal Showdown

The showdown between undefeated WPIAL Champions #3 Kiski Area and returning PIAA State Champions #2 Bethlehem Catholic will take place in the Class AAA Championship Quarterfinals and fans are in for a barnburner. Both teams cruised to wins in the opening round to set up the meeting between two of the State’s top programs. In total 21 State Ranked wrestlers will be featured between the two teams.

The match will likely come down to who can win the swing bouts and secure critical bonus points. Kiski Area is solid throughout and don’t give up a ton of bonus points to opponents but they will need their big guns (Joey Blumer, Noah Levett, Isaac Reid) to show up in a big way. Likewise Bethlehem Catholic will be looking for their studs (Ryan Anderson, Mikey Labriola, and Niko Camacho) to come through. 

Swing bouts could be 138 with the return of Bethlehem Catholic’s 2x PIAA State Qualifier Luke Carty into the line-up. Likewise 152 lbs. and 160 lbs. will play key roles in which way the match turns. We will see #1 Niko Camacho vs. #3 Isaac Reid at heavyweight in a match between two 2016 PIAA State Medalists. Brothers Tom and Danny Starr have a combined 34 pins between the two at 195 lbs. and 220 lbs. for the Cavaliers and could play a major factor in the dual if either one gets bonus points.
