Follow PA Power Live at Who's No. 1

We’re ready for Who’s No. 1 in Lehigh! The event begins at 2 p.m. from The Snakepit.

We’ll be posting live updates throughout the day and fans can watch the action live on Flo Wrestling!

1:54 p.m.: WNO is going to be fire this year … and not just because of the incredible matchups. It’s very warm in here.

1:58: The national anthem has been sung and we’re getting closer to the first match!

Here’s a look at the lineup:

113: No. 1 Malik Heinselman (CO) vs. No. 2 Kurt McHenry (MD)

2 p.m.: We’re underway!

2:07: McHenry tried for an inside trip, Heinselman countered and tossed him to take a 7-5 lead with a minute left!

2:09: McHenry escapes with 35 seconds left, gets a stalling call with 7 seconds left. McHenry with the takedown with three seconds left! What a match!

120: No. 1 Robert Howard (NJ) vs. No. 4 Pat McKee (MN)

2:14: Howard looks much thicker than McKee, gets in on legs once can’t finish, but does the second time.

2:15: McKee with a sweet go-behind; looked to have caught Howard on his back, but no nearfall points awarded. 3-2 McKee after 1 period.

2:16: Howard escapes to tie it up, shoots a single off the restart, but McKee fights it off. Aside from the first-period takedown, McKee’s defense has been phenomenal.

2:17: Howard catches an ankle, but can’t score as McKee crowds him until the end of the period.

2:19: McKee escapes to take 4-3 lead at start of third.

2:20: Words can’t adequately describe the exchange that just happened. Started with a Howard duck, McKee countered, another shot attempt, McKee countered, then McKee scores, drawing, oohs, aahs and applause.

2:21: Howard with a reversal, cuts McKee, but McKee wins 7-5.

170: No. 1 Trent Hidlay (PA) vs. No. 2 Julian Ramirez (FL)

2:28: Hidlay and Ramirez take the mat, with Hidlay throwing four quick jabs to his own face to get fired up. …. Alrighty, then.

2:29: Ramirez in on a leg at the end of the first period, but Hidlay fights it off at end of period.

2:30: Hidlay chooses down in second period. Hidlay tries to stand a few times, but can’t escape before going out of bounds at 1:41 mark. Does at 1:35.

2:31: Hidlay with a nice foot sweep, but Ramirez whizzers down hard to fight off a takedown for the second time in the period.

2:32: Hidlay with a nice snapdown, comes close to a takedown, but Ramirez does the splits to fight it off. Takes an injury timeout after second period.

2:34: Ramirez escapes at 1:36.

2:35: Ramirez with long timeout to tie shoe. Good action, no points.

2:36: Hidlay needed to step over to score, but Ramirez prevented it. Now Ramirez in on single with 20 seconds left, Hidlay kicks to edge and fights it off.

2:37: OVERTIME!

2:38: Ramirez tries a lateral drop … HIDLAY PINS HIM!

152: No. 2 Brayton Lee (IN) vs. No. 6 Justin McCoy (PA)

2:49: Was doing interviews with Hidlay, so I missed some of this, but Lee has two takedowns vs. two escapes for McCoy. 4-2 going to third, with Lee on bottom.

2:50: Lee escapes, lead is now 5-2. Lee with another takedown. McCoy escapes, and the final is 7-3.

126: No. 2 Gavin Teasdale (PA) vs. No. 3 Pat Glory (NJ)

2:57: Teasdale in quickly on a low ankle, but Glory passes the leg for a stalemate. Repeat that sentence.

2:58: Teasdale in on an outside single, and more leg passing.

2:58: Teasdale low shot; another leg pass.

2:58: Teasdale took all of the shots, but Glory might have had the best scoring chances.

3:00: Glory comes close to a reversal, but Teasdale hangs on a leg for a stalemate. Teasdale goes to an ankle and gets hit for stalling. Glory close to a reversal again, but ends up with an escape near end of period.

3:03: Glory with a takedown to make it 3-0.

132: No. 1 Roman Bravo-Young (AZ) vs. No. 2 Joey Silva (FL)

3:17: I’ve been working through this one, but haven’t missed much. It’s 1-1 going to the overtime period.

3:19: And 1:33 in, down goes RBY! Silva with a single and trip to win it!

138: No. 1 Jacori Teemer (NY) vs No. 3 Mitch Moore (Ohio)

More work being done (by me and the wrestlers). Looked like some good action. Teemer comes away with the 4-2 victory.

160: No. 1 David Carr (OH) vs. No. 2 Joe Lee (IN)

3:40: Penn State recruit Joe Lee takes the mat looking to get a win for the future Lions. They’re 0-2 so far.

Make that 0-3. Carr with a 6-1 victory.

125: No. 1 Gracie Figueroa (CA) vs. No. 1 Macey Kilty (WI)

The only girls match on the card sees Figueroa with a 6-4 victory.

195: No. 1 Micheal Beard (PA) vs. No. 2 Gavin Hoffman (PA)

4:05: Here we go!

4:08: Hoffman with two first-period takedowns, including one off a reshot at the very end of the first, leads 4-1.

4:09: Beard escapes, then takes down Hoffman on the edge to tie it at 4. Gives an escape, and Hoffman is back in front 5-4. No points, but good action as Hoffman with a reshoot, which Beard counters and nearly scores on a go-behind.

4:11: we go to the third with Hoffman up 5-4. An escape ties it.

4:12: Beard with a takedown, but gives up an escape. It’s anybody’s match at 7-6 with 1 minute to go!

Hoffman wins it 7-6!

Who’s up for watching that in college about a dozen more times with Hoffman going to Ohio State and Beard going to Penn State?

145: No. 1 Anthony Artalona (FL) vs. No. 3 Sammy Sasso (PA)

After a scoreless first period, Artalona escapes in second.

Sasso in a scramble, locks up a cradle and pins Artalona!
