First Take: Jeff Karam Back at BECAHI, Mifflin County Stops #15 Cumberland Valley, and Sasso Talks Style

Since there is a good chance you were attending a local dual meet last night and missed out on all the excitement – PA Power Wrestling is here to get you caught up!

Bethlehem Catholic Recalls Jeff Karam as Head Coach

So this is big news. Honestly, when I first saw this on social media I thought “who would make something like that up?” Well, turns out, it really happened. Bethlehem Catholic announced on Thursday that head coach Rick Thompson was out and the guy he replaced, Jeff Karam, was back in. It is a strange turn of events in Bethlehem after seeing Rick Thompson get less than a year with the Golden Hawks and compiling a (6-1) record. That lone loss came to Jeff Karam’s brother, Jody, last week against Liberty.

Our good friend Tom Housenick of The Morning Call was the first to break the news and has been providing updates on this developing situation.

Mifflin County Tops #15 Cumberland Valley (42-20)

This shakes things up. Mifflin County entered the season ranked in the Top 25 but fell to a young Central Dauphin (41-27) early-on, which dropped them out. Central Dauphin was beat by Cumberland Valley last month. Now Mifflin County beats Cumberland Valley. And I wonder why my head hurts when doing State Rankings.

Mifflin County pulled the upset, on the road, and 2-time State Medalist senior Christian Fisher recorded his 100th career win in the process. They are now (6-1) heading into their own Husky Duals this weekend.

Sammy Sasso Talks Wrestling Style

If you missed PA Power Wrestling’s latest episode of The Open Room with Rob and Joe then you need to get with it. The pair interviewed Pennsylvania fan favorite Sam Sasso. The Ohio State freshman talks his style, hand-fighting, passion, and more on the show. What are you waiting for? Plug in your headphones and tune in!
