State Rankings Updated as Individual Post-Season Kicks-Off This Weekend
PA Power Wrestling’s State and Regional Rankings have been updated heading into the first weekend of individual post-season action. The PIAA State Dual Team Championships saw numerous State ranked wrestlers go head-to-head in Hershey, causing several notable changes across the State.
In Class 3A PIAA State Champion and #1 Ryan Anderson (Bethlehem Catholic) fell to District 11 sophomore Jagger Condomitti (Northampton) in the PIAA State Dual Team finals at 145 pounds. Anderson retains his #1 ranking despite the defeat as he still owns the season series (2-1). Condomitti moves up to #5 in the State after the win. Also surging in the rankings at 145 pounds was Kiski Area freshman Enzo Moralacci who knocked off PIAA State Medalist Paniro Johnson (Cathedral Prep) putting him at #14 up seven spots from a week earlier.
At 138 pounds Owen J. Roberts junior Antonio Petrucelli jumps back into the top five after he avenged an earlier defeat to Jack McGill (Spring-Ford) at the PIAA State Dual Team Tournament. Petrucelli goes from #9 to #5 in the State. Northampton Area senior Jayden Bortz re-enters the State Rankings at 195 pounds after he knocked off #13 Brayden Roscosky (Kiski Area) in the PIAA State Dual Team Tournament semifinals.
In Class 2A 138 pounds saw some changes as Westmont Hilltop senior Ethan Kelly defeated State Medalist AJ Corrado (Burrell) and moved from #17 to #8 in the State Rankings. Three top wrestlers have been taken out of the rankings with #2 Kollin Myers (Boiling Springs) missing the post-season with an injury and both #1 Julian Gorring (Fort LeBoeuf) and #1 Chase Dull (Bermudian Springs) each were suspended from school and will miss the post-season. They were both State Finalists in 2018 and ranked #1 in the State at 184 pounds and 195 pounds respectively. At heavyweight Reynolds senior Derek Skeehan earned win over Lear Quinton (Southern Columbia) in the PIAA State Dual Team finals and moves from #17 to #8 in the State.
