MAWA Red Dominates Disney Duals Winning Development Division

While MAWA Blue finished as runner-ups in the Disney Duals District Division their counterpart MAWA Red had an impressive performance winning the Developmental Division.
In 2014 MAWA Red won the Developmental Division by defeating PA Rampage in the finals (41-15). This year MAWA Red repeated their Championship and did it with relative ease. Their closest dual meet was in the finals where they won (50-12) over S.E.O. Wrestling from Ohio.
All MAWA Red participants were Pennsylvania wrestlers from across the State. In all MAWA Red was comprised of a talented grapplers but out of 17 wrestlers only 8 of them were PIAA State Qualifiers in 2015. MAWA Red did not have a PIAA State Medalist on the line-up but still was able to blow away the competition. Ten wrestlers for MAWA Red went undefeated in all their matches including 2015 PIAA State Qualifiers Jordan Gessner (Lewisburg Area), Jimmy Hoffman (Hazelton Area), Cole Karam (Bethlehem Catholic), Dylan Chatterton (Central York), Adam Soldridge (Bethlehem Catholic), Xavier Ferrizzi (Owen J. Roberts) and Ethan Budd (Port Allegany).

The most dominating wrestler for MAWA Red was former PIAA State Medalist Dylan Chatterton (Central York) who, for the second straight time, went undefeated (9-0) at the Disney Duals. For his accomplishments Chatterton was named the Developmental Division’s “Outstanding Wrestler.” Dylan’s closest match was an (11-0) major decision picking up five falls and three technical-falls over his opponents.
Two other teams competed in the Disney Duals Developmental Division as the Keystone Brawlers Mean Green team finished in fourth place and PA Rampage placed eighth.
Brawlers Mean Green lost in the semifinals (33-27) to S.E.O. Wrestling and ended the Disney Duals with a 7-3 record. Going undefeated for Mean Green was incoming freshman Anthony “AJ” Tamburrino (William Tennant) at 106 lbs. and Zachary Sheetz (Governor Mifflin) at 145 lbs. PA Rampage, consisting of mainly District 3 wrestler, compiled a (7-2) record finishing in eighth after no dual was wrestled in the 7th/8th place match. Going undefeated for PA Rampage was Dalton Daughtery (Dallastown Area) at 106 lbs. and Kiernan Kelly (Red Land) at 152 lbs.
