The Mat Report Talks Post-Season with Guest Sammy Sasso

Nazareth’s Sammy Sasso burst on the high school wrestling scene a year ago, when he carved his way to the state finals.

Now a sophomore, Sasso is one of the best in the state and a favorite to battle Greater Latrobe hammer Luke Pletcher for the 138-pound title in next week’s PIAA Wrestling championships.

Sasso joined this week’s edition of PennLive’s “Mat Report” podcast. He discussed last season’s march, an early-season match-up with Pletcher and improvements he’s made as this season has progressed.

Elliott and Upson also recapped last week’s District 3 Wrestling Championships and took a look ahead to regional weekend, a teaser for next week’s state tournament.
