10 Pennsylvania Wrestlers Earn All-American at NCAA Division II Nationals

BIRMINGHAM – A total of 10 wrestlers from the Keystone State ended their seasons as NCAA Division II All-Americans in Birmingham, AL. While no Pennsylvanian was crowned National Champion in 2017 there were several bright spots including National Runner-up Willie Bohince of Mercyhurst/Penn Trafford at 125 lbs. Bohince, a stand-out wrestling for the Penn Trafford Warriors, ended his career as a 4-time NCAA All-American. The redshirt senior has finished 7th, 8th, 2nd, and 2nd in his four trips to the National Tournament. He is the first ever 4-time All-American for Mercyhurst and holds the record for the most wins with 132.

Bohince’s teammate Francis Mizia (Bentworth), a former PIAA State Champion, also ended his career on a high note as the redshirt senior finished in third place at 165 lbs. It was his third time earning All-American honors and his highest finish improving on a 6th and 5th place finish.

Mizia was one of three Pennsylvania wrestlers on the medal stand at 165 lbs. as Kutztown junior T.C. Warner, a PIAA State Champion from Cumberland Valley, placed 5th and returning NCAA National Champion Tyler Reinhart (Greensburg Salem) took 7th.
