2012 PIAA State third place medalist P.J. Steinmetz has given a commitment to Penn State after recently making an official visit. The senior enters the season with a 100-22 career record in his second season at Council Rock South. In his first two years Steinmetz attended LaSalle College where he compiled a 57-18 record that included qualifying for the South East Regional Tournament twice. In his first trip to Hershey Steinmetz was able to earn his third place medal after falling to eventual State Champion Perry Hills in the semi-finals. Interestingly Steinmetz is currently ranked second in the State at 195 lbs. behind State Champion Matt McCutcheon of Kiski Area who also have committed to Penn State. The two will most likely separate in wright classes at Happy Valley with McCutcheon competing at 184 lbs. and Steinmetz at 197 lbs. For Cael Sanderson and the Penn State Wrestling Program, their recruiting class continues to get stronger and Steinmetz will add to the talent especially in the upper-weights.
