Gibson, the sixth seed, collected two falls to advance into the KOM quarters while Kiser, the third seed, had a bye in the first round and only wrestled for (0:41) seconds on Friday.

These two seniors have faced-off before, back in 2017, when Fisher defeated Mendez (6-2) in the blood round of the PIAA State Tournament at 106 pounds. Fisher would go on to place 8th in 2017 and again in 2018.

Two District 1 wrestlers will go at it in the 170 pound quarterfinals as rookie Matt Colajezzi looks to make a name for himself and his young career. Colajezzi, who was honorable mention in PA Power Wrestling’s Top Incoming Freshmen Report, will have a chance to show he was under appreciated on the list as he will take on senior #20 Ricky McCutchen of Owen J. Roberts.

Jackson Arrington of Forest Hills is one of the top rookies in the State and on Saturday morning will have a chance to show it when he takes on sophomore and 2018 PIAA State Qualifier Sam McMonagle from West Chester Henderson. Arrington picked up two falls, both in the first period, including a fall in (0:43) over the #3 ranked wrestler in the State Cooper Gilham (Bald Eagle Area).

2-time PIAA State Qualifier Hunter Tremain of North Star will take on talented junior Kyle Swartz of Northern York on Saturday morning. Swartz was CV Kickoff Classic Champion last weekend and has a chance to take out another State ranked wrestler at the King of the Mountain.
