PA Helps USA Dream Team to Victory over Team Illinois

PA Wrestlers Matt McCutcheon, Cody Wiercioch and Connor Schram
Team USA had a Pennsylvania feel to it with four of thirteen wrestlers hailing from the Keystone State. That is also not including Blair Academy heavyweight Brooks Black who grew up in Dover, PA until moving to New Jersey to attend the National Prep Power.
2x PIAA Class AA Champion Darian Cruz of Bethlehem Catholic dropped a close bout (3-1 OT) to Illinois senior Barlow McGhee, a Missouri recruit. Next up at 126 lbs. 2x PIAA Class AAA State Champion Connor Schram was victorious over Illinois senior Jordan Northrup (7-4). Schram’s teammate and 3x PIAA State Champion Cody Wiercioch represented Team USA at 170 lbs. and recorded a (7-2) victory over Illinois’ Dan Rowland.
Rounding out the PA representatives for Team USA was Kiski Area senior and Penn State recruit Matt McCutcheon at 195 lbs. The 2012 PIAA Class AAA State Champion closed out the victory for Team USA with a (6-2) decision over Central Michigan recruit Jordan Ellingwood.
