PA at FILA Cadet Greco-Roman Nationals

Boyertown Area’s Jordan Wood
Pennsylvania wrestlers headed to Akron, Ohio for the ASICS/FILA Cadet Nationals. On Friday the Greco-Roman Division was completed and several Keystone State wrestlers earned medals. At 58 KG/127 lbs. Brookville Area sophomore Taylor Ortz, a PIAA State third place medalist, finished in sixth place. At 85 KG/187 lbs. Bishop McDevitt freshman Zane Black picked up a National fifth place medal. Two Pennsylvania wrestlers faired well at the 85 KG – 100 KG/187 lbs. – 220 lbs. weight-class. Boyertown Area sophomore and 2x PIAA State runner-up Jordan Wood dropped a (4-2) match to Iowa wrestler Ethan Anderson in the finals to finish as the runner-up. In the “true-second” match Jordan Wood defeated fellow Pennsylvania wrestler Michael Rogers by tech-fall (9-0). Rogers, a sophomore at Wyoming Seminary Prep, competed for Penns Valley prior to transferring to the National Prep powerhouse.
